There is a good deal of paint on this canvas. I played with different designs, but they seemed to overtake the canvas and the beauty of the turquoise. I covered up what I had done and made the design very simplified. I want the viewer to look, to feel and to think about the minimalism of the painting. The beauty lies not only in the choice of coloration but in the hugely unencumbered forms, which become all important. This artwork is finished with several layers of hi gloss varnish.
