About The Artwork

Serenity comes when you trade expectations for acceptance. 🧡 Serenity 14x11 Alcohol Ink, Acrylic Ink and Mica on Yupo Paper Most of our disappointments begin with expectations. We put our expectations on every person we meet. We judge everyone. We hold them to impossible standards. Most of the time, these standards are ones that we can’t always meet ourselves. We see ourselves as who we want to be and not always who we are. Now, it goes without saying that we all can achieve great things; and sometimes people do live up to the hype we create in our heads. Just think about how much better it is to keep your mind and your heart open to possibilities. Don’t get stuck on the fantasy you’ve created in your head. Trade your expectations for acceptance; and achieve serenity. ❤️Rebecca Bond, 11-11-2023

Hello, y'all! I currently live in Houston Texas but have lived in many different cities, all in the South! I am a southern girl to the bone. I am a travel junkie, and prefer to be lost in a jungle somewhere remote. The colors of the world are fascinating and I want to capture the beauty of the things my eyes behold. My imagination is pulled to the deep greens of the old oak trees that line the esplanades of New Orleans, the blue green waters of the ocean in Thailand, the explosive colors of the flowers of the Costa Rican jungle. While travel does light a fire of creativity, I am also inspired by the mystic teachings of the Buddha, the sacred rituals of the Gaelic folk, music from my favorite artists and the mysteries of the universe; and how we are connected to it all. My medium of choice is acrylic paint, but I also enjoy using alcohol inks, pencils, pastels, collage and pastes. I want to explore my creativity and not be boxed in with one medium. Sometimes using just paint, doesn't convey the image you want to place on your canvas. You need more! I think of creating art as a great expedition. The explorers of old didn't stop at just one location, they kept going till they reached the stars.
