Urban Project 4 Painting

I have been fascinated by storefronts ever since I set my tiny baby eyes on one. The text fonts and graphic signs, the products, the colors, the characters, logos, language, culture and so on. I want to call store fronts a portraiture of someones product. I may not always want the product, but the storefront sets a precedence for me to be interested in it. It's kind of like falling in love at first glance, but keeping the mystery present by crafting it into an art work. These kind of store fronts are very common in South Korea. Once you start entering a district with lots of living quarters, these kind of mini multi-mall type buildings will start to appear before your eyes. Usually they will have a variety of services ranging from your usual supermarket, hair salon, cram schools, sports centers etc. Each district will have a few buildings like this, but the more populated a district is, the more buildings like this will be condensed into one area. Many times these areas become central entertainment districts of that area, and sometimes they become an area full of cram schools. I used to work in a building like this when I used to be an English teacher back in South Korea. It brings me back memories of those days spent in Korea.
