Urban Shades Painting

This work, which I created with mixed media on wood, is a vortex of colours, shapes and lines that evokes the essence of urban graffiti. The composition is a controlled chaos, where each element, despite its spontaneous appearance, is carefully placed within the painting. Colors are vivid and contrasting, with red, blue, yellow and white standing out against darker backgrounds, creating a dynamic visual space. Made on wood with abstract shapes and figures representing objects, people or symbols, like a complex mosaic of urban images. The technique employed is improvised, similar to what one might find in a street mural. The painting escapes sharp outlines, allowing the shapes to overlap and merge intuitively. The feeling of movement and energy reflects the bustle and vitality of city life. Elements such as eyes or faces appear scattered throughout the composition, offering focal points that attract and guide the eye. The work communicates a feeling of creative frenzy, where the chaos of the title is not synonymous with disorder but with an abundance of life and expression. The wood as a support adds a texture and solidity that contrasts with the fluidity and transience of the images I painted above, thus uniting materiality and movement in a single artistic space.
