About The Artwork

Voodoo People is inspired from a music video of The Prodigy that also as the source of the name of the painting. Voodoo People frames the struggles of the human experience within the rat race of modern society. As part of the Artificial Hells collection, this painting offers a perspective of the perpetual challenges and unattainable expectations imposed by humanity upon itself. All the blindfolders, dreads, and barricade-like objects in relation to the figure refer to the sensation of never-ending struggle and unreachable standards put by humankind. These obstructions represent the never-ending challenges and untouchable standards imposed upon humankind, creating an atmosphere of perpetual frustration and exhaustion. Various brush-made textures and complementary colors and haunting darkness create a contrasting blend that mirrors the multifaceted nature of the human experience in a dynamic composition.
