About The Artwork

In this work created in 2016 for the Art Day Malaga event I used an image I found on Twitter about an undressed woman with fuchsia tights taking off her T-shirt and my own reflection on the window in my room at night as if the woman was stripping in front of me while I smoked a cigarette. I liked the shapes of the female figure of the Twitter image and I thought it would fit perfectly with my distorted drawing derived from Expressionism, a movement I identify with my way of living and thinking since I was a child and decided to express the world as I felt because it was the only thing I could be sure of. I made various watercolor sketchs before and finally came to my mind the idea to include myself in the painting at the moment I was looking at me through the window of my room along with the illuminated landscape for the street lamps at night. This impressionist scene mixed with the female figure next to my desk is the fantasy I depicted in this theatrical piece. This aquarelle with warm colors is signed and dated on the front and is shipped rolled in an extra strong cardboard tube. To highlight the appearance of this work I reccommend to frame it.

Fernando started working as a Graphic Web Designer in Madrid but later he was attacted by acting and he started to took part in plays, short films and commercials. At this point Fernando explain: " It doesn't matter any medium I use, wathever acrylic, watercolor, marker or graphite, the most important thing is the experience of the moment and the search of the impulse to react to a stimulus, These two princples I found them out when I worked as an actor in Madrid; and in this way, I can start with an idea in mind but I change it, driven by my instinct, in order to come upon new findings." His last exhibitions were at the Affordable Art Fair in Milan and at Van Gogh Art Gallery in Madrid, where he showed part of the Dark Paintings series.
