This painting is on wood; it has a depth of 1/16th inch, or .079 inches, or 2mm. But, the panel was badly buckled, and so the thin panel is glued to a much thicker (heavy) wood panel, to keep it flat.

I started the painting with a group of artists in Meaux, France, while remembering friends and family in South Carolina. This association "handed" me a wooden board to work on, and Stephane put a base coat on it, and dared me to finish it.

It was inspired by my enthusiasm for Street Art in general, and particularly for work by the artists JonOne and Stephane Pillon.

Viewers might feel some of the wildness and adventure of these new technique for me.

The imagery reminded me of Faulkner's novel, The Wild Palms, a tortured story of seeking.
