About The Artwork
From my earliest memories as a young adult Autumn has always been such a bittersweet time. I can recall stopping the car at the side of the road in the midst of the first winter's snowfall at the peak of foliage season. I jumped out, tears streaming down my face, and ran to catch a snowflake on my tongue, as the swirling colors of the autumn storm were brushed into my soul from a pallet in the hands of grandmother earth. There, at the confluence of pure exhuberance, splashing color, and immense sadness, I found a place of profound peace. This image, appropriately entitled "Autumn is Sooo Bittersweet" reflects that youthful experience that has been a touchstone in my life even now as I trod the well-worn trails of my sixties. This image is available as a signed original in two editions, a large print 26"x40" and as a small work keepsake edition of 8"x12".
