About The Artwork

Atmospheric dark and moody urban scene of abandoned burnt-out car under a railway arch. From my early years in London. My first place that I moved into when I came here was a flat-share in Bromley-By-Bow, East London back in 2000. I did a lot of walking around getting to know the neighbourhood as I always do when moving to a new location. One very much recurring theme whilst exploring Bow back in 2000 was burnt out cars, and I found this very fascinating. Ths image is from a railway arch entering the Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and was shot on my old Bronica SQ-As 6x6 camera with Ilford FP4 Plus 125 iso Black & White negative film. Processed at home in my flat-share by using a cupboard in the hallway for loading it onto the cannister. I always loved the image and I did some prints of it in the darkroom when I was assisting a photographer. I recently rediscovered it when I looked through my archive for another image I needed to get scanned for a customer and digitised it so I can share it with you all. A signed print from a limited edition of 25. Printed with a white border to accommodate framing/mounting and the signature - the actual size of the printed image is 96.6 x 96.6 cm. Should you have any questions about any of my artworks, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via my website ("globe" button under my profile photo). Also, if you would like to get updates about new artworks you can also click the “Follow” button on my profile. Beautifully Giclée printed on Hahnemuhle Pearl paper - a slightly textured 285 gsm. semi-gloss paper which holds more detail with punchier colours than a matt paper, whilst maintaining a illustrative/ painted feel. Technology: Epson UltraChrome HDR Wide Gamut Inks with archival life expectancy: 40 years daylight, 200 years in dark. All prints are professionally printed to ensure the absolute best quality and consistency. I pride myself in strict quality control.

I am a freelance photographer based in London. I enjoy a big love for travelling, which not only takes me around the world – with many great new images as a result – it's also a continuing source of inspiration which influences and feeds my passion for photography. With a background that started with drawing and illustration, which in turn lead to graphic design I believe the foundation of the way I compose my captures is very much affected by this. I often look for very graphic compositions with strong lines, large areas of strong colour, negative space and pushing the boundaries of traditional rules of composition. There is also a different approach to the way I like capturing my images when it comes to more travel reportage images. Still looking to isolate my subject, either by using shallow focus, leading lines, concentrating of light, picking out splashes of colour, and other techniques. Most images are very much as a spectator, fly on the wall if you like - I generally don't like posed images. I feel I get a truer picture when I don't interfere, but also I'm not hiding in the distance with a tele-lens - I like to be close to my subjects in plain sight.
