About The Artwork

Built in 1928 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, the Paragon Carousel is located at Nantasket Beach in Hull, MA. It has 4 rows of 66 carved horses and 2 rare Roman chariots, plus 35 original paintings, 36 cherubs and 18 goddesses, who look down while a Wurlitzer Mechanical Band Organ fills the air with music. It is the last remaining attraction from the beloved Paragon Park amusement park on Nantasket Beach that closed in 1985.
