Yaw Afrim Gyebi, a self-taught Documentary Photographer, Storyteller, Activist, and Photojournalist, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. His journey began while pursuing a BSc in Communication Studies at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, where he unearthed his profound passion for capturing compelling narratives. In 2019, Gyebi embarked on a transformative odyssey into the realm of photography, an endeavor that would reshape the course of his life. He discovered a profound sense of purpose in utilizing his innate talents and acquired skills to infuse trust and create a lasting impact on the lives of others through the art of visual storytelling. His optimism for the future of photography in a visually saturated society springs from an unshakable belief in its transformative potential.
