About The Artwork
This picture is particularly inspired by the news. Here we find the idea of global warming, melting ice, and pollution of the oceans. This photography refers to the discovery of fossils dating back 42,000 years, preserved in ice. Through this shot, the same '' phenomenon '' is updated with waste from our current society. This contemporary vestige, reveals that some discovery (related in particular to consumption and planned obsolescence) would be less glorious for humanity. The elements of daily consumption are here recycled and staged in a harmonious way. These detritus become aesthetic elements of my compositions, supports of light. This work is also inspired by the vanitas of the 17th century by David Bailly, Philippe de Champaigne, Peter Claez, but also by the works of contemporary artists, such as Saverio Lucariello Vanitas with watermelons and flowers, 2000, Jan Fabre L'oiseau de God, 2000, Tom SachsSkull, 2003, this series is itself a vanity.
