The Man And The Sea Photograph - Limited Edition of 12

IMAGE I was stuck on the Iranian island of Hengam for several days as the ferries were out of service due to stormy weather conditions. Eventually I made a deal with a local fisherman that he would give me a ride on his fishing boat back to the island of Qeshm from which it was easier to reach mainland Iran. This Afghan worker in a beautiful blue robe happened to be a passenger on that same boat. It was a dangerous 30 minute boat ride across the Persian gulf as the small boat was rocking violently and battling waves much bigger than it was designed to handle. I was holding my camera with one hand while holding onto the boat with the other. Yet the resulting photograph radiates calm, dignity and composure. It was the last picture of my long term photo project "Junub" about the Persian Gulf islands and the last picture I took in Iran. PRINT This photograph is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 fine art paper. The paper is characterised by smooth texture and premium matte coating. Made from 100% cotton rag, the paper is acid free and complies with the highest archival standards. The print comes with an additional 1,5 cm. white border on all sides, signed and titled. EDITIONS This print is a limited edition print. There are only 12 editions available of this print. Each print ships with a certificate of authenticity indicating the edition number, price, date of purchase and buyer's name.
