PRINT DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Tropical Grace" l'd been working on softening the background by manipulating the dept of field. This image captures an understatement of the subject and its subtlety is palpable. I'm more concerned about tonal representations and color intensity. I like the band of a darker gradation running through the middle of the image. It heightens the contrast without overwhelming it. The tips of the leafs are delicate and float in space. The silvery leafs on the bottom right are fanciful and expand the color range. The atmosphere is light and airy, as is the ghost-like background greenery. The fanning leafs fill the space and the relaxed palm carries the theme. PRINT DETAILS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Limited to an edition of 25 regardless of size. This means I will produce only 25 original signed prints of this image regardless of size. This print will be signed & numbered on a 1 1/2" border and will include a Certificate of Authenticity. The image will be printed using archival inks and Moab Somerset Enhanced Velvet Fine Art Paper, 255gsm, 100% Cotton, Textured White, Mould-Made. This natural white paper produces deep, rich blacks with an unparalleled color gamut. The archival 100% cotton heavyweight paper has a smooth surface with a velvety fine art touch. Brandon LeValley (1954) is a photographic artist from the United States. In 1976 he graduated from Washington State University where his Bachelor’s Degree included Art studies. He’s always had a passion for photography. That desire was fueled early in life when he was still shooting film and utilizing a darkroom to process images. Holding a final print offered a world of experience seeing how the light on a subject materialized. Years later he realized the digital camera had revolutionized processing. Today, he converts most images to black and white and often shoots botanicals for their dramatic lines and shape. He’s also drawn to architecture and landscapes. Living near Joshua Tree National Park provides many dramatic configurations that come from his explorations. While his journey in photography has evolved, it’s often ignited by striking lighting. He’s fascinated by the abstract and uses every tool to achieve a finished composition. A unique image, he believes, comes about by a disciplined and oftentimes exhaustive approach. Knowing the payoff can be rewarding, that commitment to detail ultimately renders a more compelling work.
