This is a symbolic expression of the collective invocation, the unconscious fear of people of the forces of fate. This fear can have both a social and biological nature. The sculptor expresses this emotion by portraying a number of people standing in circle and raising their hands to heaven. People crying out to heaven even form a vertical pattern, elegant and logical completion of sculptural forms. By this eloquent position of hands, the sculpture by Vladimirov reminds of the temple paintings of Ancient Egypt, where by the uplifted hands and rhythmic position of the bodies “wailers” show the full depth of the bitter feelings seizing people.
