The opium smoker’s dream, the painting of Lajos Gulácsy (Hungarian painter from the 19th century) inspired this portrait. On the painting the fantasy is mixed with reality, many body parts – faces, hands, eyes and noses – are hidden among the whole (or holistic) human figures. The sculpture, the IDEA, I named after the Painter, was born from the impression of these fragments, from the fragments that are able to make up of a larger one.

Dénes Csasznyi ( b. 1967, Yugoslavia) is an artist who lives and works in Budapest, Hungary. Bronze and resin sculpting is at the heart of his process, often combined with painting, graphics and video installation, resulting in walking not the common roads but goes in search of new path to explore. His pieces are being born from one fragment by giving space to processes and momentary impressions because by giving free rein to "the Muse", a perfect kind of wholeness can be created. In his works an essential role is played by mystery that makes the observer wonder about the latent meaning of each visual narrative.
