About The Artwork

It is a broken branch of Lagestroemia (whose characteristic is that it has no bark and creates twisted branches) on which a copper-colored aluminum wire has been wound in compact coils and on whose natural knots steel nails have been inserted burnished with gold acrylic paint inserts. The base is in black painted solid pine with a diamond finish and stainless steel supports. The theme that inspired this composition is that of the recovery of Nature. The aluminum wire winds carefully, in endless coils, as if to protect the damaged branch. All the preciousness of the natural element emerges from the nailed knots, to indicate its eternity and irreplaceability. The whole is elevated from the base as a sign of the sacredness of life. The composition leads the observer to travel it back and forth with his gaze, capturing both the softness of the parts without inserts and the contrast with the points of curvature variation enhanced by the nails. Throughout its development, aluminum plays a decisive role with its iridescent reflections, with an unusual color that enhances the concept of preciousness. These reflections vary according to the lighting and the position of the observer, offering an ever new vision of the work. Furthermore, the coils made up of a single seamless thread underline the infinite life of this metal, like the infinite life of Nature, from which it comes.

Born in Legnano (Italy) in 1963, the author is an Italian painter and sculptor who lives and creates in Inveruno (Italy). Despite having embarked on a course of technical-scientific studies that have led him to achieve brilliant results as a manager in important companies operating in the design of new technologies, he has always dedicated a large part of his creative energies to artistic activities. Initially directed to the musical and literary genre, also with regard to the passion for photography and thanks to the teachings of his father Eugenio, he transposed his artistic research into the pictorial field, initially painting according to the dictates of the Impressionist trend, then moving into an Abstract and Conceptual, enhancing its major expressive stimuli. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and national art competitions, in which he has obtained a good response from critics and the public, as well as flattering awards. In the last year, the artistic vein finds a further expressive modality in sculpture, a world certainly more demanding than painting, but which offers hitherto unexplored and highly satisfying additive sensorialities. In each work the commitment is always maximum in offering an "emotional key" to be used in self-discovery: the work of art understood as a means and not as an end. Recently, some works have been brought together in a virtual place where it is possible to have an organic vision of the artistic utopia of a man who does not care about the market and who never stops looking at the world with the clarity of the closed eyes of a child smiles.
