About The Artwork

This piece was done in 1995 as an expression of the times. The concept being the torn and tattered banner that is the American Flag. Meant to represent a society, battered and beaten and so fragile...held together by bandages that indeed cover-up scars of it's historical past. The underlying swirl representing the melting pot of cultures and the dance we are all a part of.
