Western Sunburn Print

Some of my most fun times have been out west, in the Nevada desert, up and down California’s coast. There’s nothing like the arid weather and tempting sun. I have always wanted to capture the color and feel of the heat and hues of places like Red Rock National park, and the ever-changing golds and blues of the desert. I also gravitate toward films set in these places. Someday, like this first painting in the Road Trip series portrays, I want to drive across the country with only some changes of clothes and a camera. And, of course, art supplies. With the brilliance of joyful color, and some parts gold leaf, this piece was painted in oil over a map of the west, inferring promises of wild west adventure.
