Original abstract pastel drawing on paper mounted on canvas. Side edges of canvas painted black, ready to hang. Light is reflected and refracted, grey that has so many transparent and translucent colored highlights. Part of the Mirrors series. These are intimate pieces inspired by the idea of an art as an abstract mirror that reflects not just a physical image but a concept of self, a means of self-reflection, contemplative, framed and whimsical, each one encompasses different aspects of personality and thoughts. When you look at art as when you look at a mirror what you see depends upon you. Adjust a collar, smooth an eyebrow. If you're brave enough, you can look in. Mirrors don't reflect us, we reflect them. Enjoy seeing Mirrors at a meditative pace with an original electric bass soundtrack in a youtube video at https://youtu.be/3XCGwZfggMc.

United States
Hi. I am a North Carolina-based artist. At some point, the world broke into particles, for me. I realized that matter was interchangeable. Everything is significant, in that, it is part of everything else. I start with matter and see how it comes together. There might be realistic elements or not. Mostly, my Art is about the glory of life. If we can find it. Recently, I am creating whimsical paintings with brightly colored tempera and latex (see these series: Memory Possibilities, Loblolly Memory Pad). Who knows what will be next? I was juried into the Orange County Artists Guild, OCAG, (Carborro, NC) in February, 2020. I moved to North Carolina in March 2018, after having lived in Miami for 33 years. Originally from the Chicago area, I was a founding member of the experimental art rock band Merz Pix. Private collectors across the US and the globe (France, the UK, the Netherlands, Tasmania, Japan) have purchased my works.
