I was admitted to the E.R. Burrowes School of Art in 2001, as the youngest student due to the excellent portfolio I was able to present to the interviewing panel, since the age for admission to Burrowes was eighteen years at that time. I graduated from the Burrowes School of Art in 2004, majoring in Painting, and minoring in textiles. I obtained the Prize that graduating year for Best Student in Painting and also was awarded Best Graduating Student. After Graduation, I entered the teaching field at President's College in the Visual Arts department from 2004 to 2006. I also taught Drawing for the Modular Programme at Burrowes in 2006. From 2002 to the present, I have participated in several Drawing and Watercolour Competitions held by Castellani House, winning several awards. In 2002, I won the only prize in the 16—18 years category with my piece, ‘Active‘(pencil crayon vi] paper). In 2004, at the Fifth Biennial National Drawing competition, he won the Silver Medal for his piece, ‘Holly‘ (pencil crayon on paper) in 2005, at the 4th Castellani House National Watercolour Competition, I won the Gold Medal for my piece, 'In the Midst of Life‘. Other noted works include ‘Midday at the Market' (watercolour), amongst others. I have taken part in exhibitions both at Burrowes and at Castellani House. I admire the works of surrealist painters Salvador Dali and Max Ernst, as well as Vermeer and others of that period. Strong influences in my life have been my supportive family and my former Painting and Drawing tutor and mentor, the late Chekama Skeete.
