About The Artwork
A study in ink and watercolour on vegetable parchment of Singapore's Maxwell Food Court. Singapore's dominant culture is unquestionably a food culture, coffee-shops and hawkers have contributed largely to the formation and continuity of this culture. What was Maxwell Wet Market in 1935 is now, since 1986, a renown food centre. It's host to a wide range of authentic local dishes, such as chicken rice, and many famous hawkers.
