It was in one of the last warm evenings in August - time to enjoy the last drops of summer sunsets, leaving a lazy hangover and sorrow for the leaving months. Living by the sea means to cherish this time spent with friends on the beach, enjoying long talks, walking and laughing. Every summer is a small life within the year, a short deep breath before diving into the fall-winter-spring routine... I like to choose quotes upon drawing, or sometimes it is the quote which gives the inspiration. There is a well known but still very beautiful quote which describes this drawing for me: “August must be shed slowly, like pear liquor. Pour into a small glass, drink a drop, and look through the glass at the sun. August nights should be diluted with candle lights, milk poured into a cup for a brownie, purring a cat and the chatter of grasshoppers.
