This is a sketch with black ink on paper. this sketch represents plight of the masses during The Great Bengal Famine in year 1943. I stumbled across a tiny piece of article in the newspaper about 10 years ago with a picture of a dying Bengali man. The scent of death and the intensity of prayers by the elderly Sikh inspired me to capture the moment in form of a sketch. This sketch also highlights the fact that faith transcends the boundaries of religion and humanity ties us in strongest of bonds.
