About The Artwork
Once upon a time there was an Emperor who fell in love with a flower (in the snow). With that love, he took his people with him on a journey since the day to eternity. The chrysanthemum red and gold inspired the thought about the Emperor and the unique culture of Japan. Behind the flower stems were the sea of Japan with scattered islands and the path that Japanese people shared with the Emperor. A mixed style of complex simplicity and naive sophistication used in this work was my impression of the art and culture of Japan.
