Choosing any particular object for the main and only object of inspiration may seem trivial, however, pineapple, in my case, is a starting point, base for exploring all its cultural and formal aspects. Being a specific shape, with geometry and symmetry of a natural form, led to it acquiring almost a cult status, not only as a food item but also as a symbol being used widely in advertising and the entertainment industry. This unique and recognizable appearance consists of different forms and shapes, and biomporh properties that are used, developed, and explored. The complexity of geometrical patterns and the use of different colors are not limited to color variation and visual appeal but rather represent a meditation on the infinity of form and nature. What it is not completely given, i.e. printed or painted, in the process of forming the visual representations in our brain is filled and transformed into complex processes, to form a unique whole. That way, each of us will see a different image, one what we want to see, perhaps recognize some other symbol or form, but basically it all leads us towards the same goal - the Pineapple, as a subject source in which nature itself has combined an incredible combination of ambiguities. In this series, I keep painting the fruit, focusing on the limitless possibilities it offers. I was experimenting with printing, where pineapple fruit, (or parts of it) is used as a tool to make the paintings themselves. Medium is the acrylic color on cotton paper.
