A boutique vineyard is a winery producing less than 10,000 cases in a year and is thus considered as a boutique winery. Of course, wines produced here are called boutique wines. There are many terms associated with boutique wineries. Some of them are small-run, limited production, hand-crafted and artisanal. Viticulture (from the Latin word for vine) or winegrowing (wine growing) is the cultivation and harvesting of grapes. It is a branch of the science of horticulture. While the native territory of Vitis vinifera, the common grape vine, ranges from Western Europe to the Persian shores of the Caspian Sea, the vine has demonstrated high levels of adaptability to new environments, hence viticulture can be found on every continent except Antarctica. I love the work of Maxfield Parrish and Claude Monet and use their working methods as a departure point for my painting. I always try to paint on fine weave linen using glazes for depth and richness, and I follow the time tested principles of painting using archival materials on stabilized linen to create a painting that will last centuries
