About The Artwork
This painting depicts one of my favorite mammals, bottle nosed dolphins. To me, dolphins are like horses that live in the ocean. Smart, friendly, good natured and always looking for ways to have fun! The dolphins I have painted in the past were always in a more realistic setting. This time I wanted more of a 'fantasy' feel. The background colors were chosen to accomplish the cosmos feeling with a bit of aurora borealis. Water was painted around the bottom of the dolphin to seat it in its water world, so it would not appear to be flying through space. Acrylic on 11 x 14 wrapped stretched canvas.
