About The Artwork
Out of Step - part of the “Ignition” series This is an original oil painting on canvas and is an abstract painting inspired by the impact that socio environmental change is having on our daily lives. This piece was inspired by the relationship that buildings and industry have on our day to day commute and how the landscape slowly changes around us, obviating our perspective. Those impacts are felt in the air, in water and on land we should reflect on the footprint that we leave in our wake. Appreciating that every action however small has implications for us and others around us or is it an impression of the Russian Steppe and reflections into a pool of water or over a frozen lake? The painting is in tones of blues, greys and whites - you decide.
