Against All Odds Print

My fascination with seahorses began last year when, sadly, many of them washed up on the gulf coast beaches. They are beautiful and defenseless and, I was told, very tasty treats for many other fish. Somehow, many of them manage to survive....in spite of the odds! This painting just "evolved" from an abstract expressionistic "paint pouring" session after a dream of seahorses. This painting represents Hope and Survival. Even when you feel that you are "against all odds", there is hope and you will survive. Watercolor was literally poured on a sanded Wallis pastel paper. Using only primary colors, the paint mingled and splashed and took on a life of it's own. Sea salt was thrown at random, sea water sprayed and more watercolor paint blown in areas to represent sea grasses. Sea life started to come to life and their images reinforced with soft pastel bringing in positive and negative shapes. "Against All Odds" has a white single mat board, high gloss cobalt blue inch wide frame with outer dimensions of 22 X 26 inches.
