About The Artwork
I wanted to do a portrait in reds and browns, to try and capture the gentle melancholy of autumn (or fall), my favourite season. I love the feel of autumn, when the sun still shines but there's a chill to the air and the leaves are falling from the trees, and I hope something of that comes through in the painting. It's painted in acrylic on stretched canvas and varnished with Gamblin Gamvar. There is also a layer of isolation coat. It comes with a paper back and attached hanging cord.
