About The Artwork

Acrylic Painting on wood panel in modern realism style. Wildebeest painted from my own reference photos after an extended trip to Namibia. My inspiration was to create a series that expresses the wild nature of this amazing place. The viewer is meant to sense the drama of the scene as this wary wildebeest (blue gnu) stands alone, watching out for danger. The color contrast is an expression of the ever present tension on the Savannah. Painted with professional quality acrylics on gessoed MDF wood panel. Unframed. Black-painted edges and attached hanging bracket make it suitable for hanging as-is. The painting will be shipped, well protected in a shipping box, wrapped in glassine paper, bubble wrap, foam board and with corner protection.

I was born in Myrtle Beach, SC, in 1965 as a child of the US Air Force. This and my subsequent years have allowed me to experience life in the UK, and in the North, South, East and West of the US. In 2002, after marrying my beautiful German wife, I moved with her to Duesseldorf, Germany and then 3 years later to the surrounds of Hamburg, where I now live and work. Although I spent a career working in the world or materials science and then marketing, I have always been an artist. It wasn't until 2014, however, that I began painting in Acrylics and oils. As my passion for this form or expression grew, I took an opportunity in 2016 to fulfill my dream of making art my full-time career, and began taking on commissions. My style has been primarily photo-realism and post-modernist realism. .
