About The Artwork
I am fascinated by Canary Wharf with its glass structures reflecting light. There are patterns from other buildings also reflected especially in the late afternoon near dusk. The lights from the offices are just beginning to come on casting a warm glow in the water. This is when the summer evenings are turning to Autumn, a time which is particularly good for twinkling lights of these iconic buildings. I take photos and quick sketches and can't wait to get home to start the paining. I use acrylic for the under paining and use best artists oils for the rest to complete it. It comes ready strung to hang or a simple frame if needed.

My childhood was spent in Sussex where I developed a love of the rolling hills and country side. After Art college I moved to London where I continued painting. I discovered pastel painting a few years ago which I love for its brilliant pure colours. I found the light and rich colours of the South of France could be caught using using this medium. After visiting New York, where I had an exhibition , I was very interested in the awesome buildings and am currently painting a series of cityscapes of New York and London.Patricia is influenced by the French Impressionists.Working in oils and pastels, producing still lifes, landscapes and nudes of scenes that range from Twickenham to St.Tropez, Patricia's resulting work reflects the vibrant colours and brilliant light of the South of France.Patricia was recently made a member of the Society of Women Artists.
