Padrão Alterado (Changed Pattern) In the Padrão Alterado series, the paintings explore the concept of patterns that are constantly challenged, disrupted, and broken with the intention of creating a visual system capable of intriguing and challenging perception. These works aim to delve into the complex relationship between matter and spirit, tracing a journey from the earthly and everyday world of the streets to the more ethereal dimensions of the astral. These two seemingly distinct worlds are presented side by side, creating an unexpected dialogue. The paintings in the series are created through a process involving the overlapping of several layers of paint, functioning almost like a collage. It is crucial to establish a grid that aims to organize a universe that, at first glance, may seem chaotic. Through geometric shapes and an intense and contrasting color palette, the artist seeks to create a transcendental experience that breaks with preconceptions guided by the mind. A notable characteristic of the works is their ability to offer open interpretations. Within the same painting, it is possible to discern the formation of more than one drawing, confusing and creating illusions that represent the duality present in the series. It is a journey through the duality of life, represented through simple visual elements that become complex patterns through fusions and repetitions. "Padrão Alterado" navigates between layers and opposites, uniting these seemingly contrasting forces to create unity in diversity. Each painting challenges the gaze and induces us to reflect on the mysteries of reality through an uninhabited space.

Originally from Porto Alegre, in the south of Brazil, Cassio Raabe, born in 1986, holds a Bachelor degree in Graphic Design but has always been more inclined towards artistic projects. Influenced by Hector Cartier's disciple, the Argentine Nestor Candi, he studied painting with him, absorbing the essence of Bauhaus and the mechanisms of visual perception. Additionally, he explored contemporary drawing in Porto Alegre and Visual Storytelling at Santa Fé University in the United States. His areas of interest move between extremes, ranging from the material relationship with the city and the street, to the spiritual relationship that inhabits rituals originating in the interior of the Amazon rainforest. In this fusion, he explores the organic that resides in the geometric, the error within perfection and the chaos that is organized into grids. Through stains, drips, dirt, adhesive tapes, excesses, accumulations, movements, rigid shapes, saturated colors, repeated and broken patterns, tensions and balances, chance overflows through sculptures, paintings, graphic forms and a compilation of photographs that are part of your daily personal record routine. Cassio seeks, through a diversity of supports, to question the real and the illusory, appropriating and exploring what each medium offers distinctly, but at the same time, seeking meaning as a whole, composing a unity in the artist's production. He held solo and group exhibitions in Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Milan, New York and Santa Fé. For two years he had an independent art space, which ended with the artist spending a season in Europe. After five years living in São Paulo, today he continues to develop his research in Rio de Janeiro.
