About The Artwork

Visited the Clonmacnoise monastery ruins recently. Incredible site, once the most famous site in 9th century Ireland. A center of religion, trade and scholarship. it was attacked regularly at different times by the English, Vikings and Normans. Still, it managed to hold on until the 1600's. The monastery, castles and village is gone, but in the surrounding fields, cows still graze, much as the used to centuries ago, almost as if frozen in time.
