About The Artwork

Orange Monarch Butterfly Canvas wrap print from original acrylic painting Canvas shipped from the US comes with a hard sealed backing and hanging hardware for an effortless install. Canvas shipped outside the US comes with an open back and are ready to hang with a sawtooth hanger. Print Technique 8 color, 8 pass pigment-based inkjet printing using archival inks designed to hold up over time without fading. My paintings have an Impressionistic style and reflect my mood and emotions based on the music I am listening to. I gain my inspiration from music and nature. My new series of paintings is of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I want my work to convey a message of peace and harmony yet contain energy and movement of music. I create depth in my acrylic paintings by applying multiple layers of acrylic paint. Conveying a sense of comfort for the mind to wander the image horizon of the image and meditate. Each painting achieves mesmerizing atmospheric depth, encouraging the viewer to gaze and be still. Chris Rutledge graduated with honors and received my Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from Memphis College of Art in 2000. He regularly exhibits his art throughout the Australia and America. He is currently painting full time in my home studio in Longmont, Colorado. I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all my collectors and customers for their support and encouragement over the years! "Metamorphosis has always been the greatest symbol of change for poets and artists. Imagine that you could be a caterpillar one moment and a butterfly the next." Louie Schwartzberg

My paintings are an intricate weaving of the elements of Impressionist masters like Monet and Post-impressionist artist Van Gogh. Each piece inspired by the vastness, splendor and beauty of nature and the outdoors. Exemplifying the medium’s pure expressive potential to transform the visible world by creating movement using intense complementary colors and layered energetic brush strokes. I desire to create a pictorial symphony that immerses the viewer in a visually stimulating, playful and dreamlike viewing experience. Each landscape focuses on the philosophy to be transformed, uplifted and tap into the subconscious by conveying a sense of comfort for the mind to wander the horizon of the image, reflect and meditate. "I want the unobtainable. Other artists paint a bridge, a house, a boat, and that's the end. They are finished. I want to paint the air which surrounds the bridge, the house, the boat, the beauty of the air in which these objects are located, and that is nothing short of impossible." -Claude Monet “I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream.” -Vincent Van Gogh
