Life and history happen in cycles of happiness (illustrated through the softness of watercolour) and suffering (picture through the harshness and opacity of acrylics). The mediums were chosen to reflect the way our brains register the happy moments as vague and shapeless and the suffering as overpowering and strong memories. The acrylic segment breaking the cycle is the conscious act to break the repeating patterns, taking in only the information which aids in evolution (symbolised by the mix of white - the new and the indigo - the old). The painting is a recognition of the hardships a generational Cyclebreaker faces and the value brought on by their decision to put a stop to repeating toxic patterns. Abstract acrylic and wax pastel painted on cotton canvas mounted on cardboard. Watercolour background and acrylics applied with a painting knife and brush. Hanging materials not included.

Romania
I am a self-taught artist and an art therapist, based in Bucharest, Romania I became an artist when expression through art saved my life, after going through a near death experience and child loss. I have developed my own art therapy technique which puts me in a trance while painting and helps me heal and express the world within, Every piece I make is created within a therapeutic process and it revolves around self empowerment, breaking trans generational trauma, transgressing patriarchy and creating space for each unique personality. I find inspiration within my own emotional turmoil, in behavioural patterns I observe within society, but also in music and history. I love to add texture to my paintings with gesso and add to the dimension through rough and undefined strokes. I use irregular, organic shapes as a form of acceptance towards our humanity.
