"Dulces Galletas" makes part of "Unidades Disponibles" (Units in Stock) is an ongoing series of portraits representing women of visceral, ambiguous beauty, from different ethnic origins. Made using a mixed technique -oil on magazine catalogs pasted onto wood-, the portraits reveal popular ideas of consumerism and a subdued nostalgia. The gaze of the anonymous women contrasts with Colombian product sale catalogs and their folkloric designs, messages and colors. Assembled in groups of 3-10 or even more, the individual faces disappear to make room for a landscape of shapes, flesh and facial features. This army of painted women stares solemnly at the viewer, depicting a utopian world where there is no longer a need to talk about gender issues when facing images of women in galleries and museums.

Colombia
Rossina Bossio is a multi-disciplinary artist born in Bogotá, Colombia. She studied Visual Arts at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in her hometown and Fine Arts at L’École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, France. Her work, which ranges from painting and drawing to video, has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei (MoCA), The Imperial City Art Museum (BAMOIC), in Beijing; the Grand Palais in Paris; the Tribeca Cinemas in New York; and the Saint Claire’s Church Museum in Bogotá, among others. "The work of Rossina Bossio is primarily the art of painting, its practice and execution, its playful and sensual aspects and all the reasonings that it involves. This is the reason why the women, objects and spaces she represents do not evoke a predetermined, literal or univocal sense. On the contrary, considerations such as chromatic subtlety, the delimitation of space, and the relationship of forms are key points for their appreciation." — Eduardo Serrano, Curator and Art historian.
