About The Artwork
The painting is made in layers/stages, that compete with each other. 1. Acrylic background is a Rothko-like abstraction 2. Oil-painted figure, self-portrait while exercising (doing sit-ups) The guiding principle of the painting is the competition between blue and red. It is accompanied by the simultaneous contrast in the case of grey. The figure is depicted in a state of self-crucifixion, reminiscent of a broken crucifix trope. This is an atemporal, eternal, religious, and at the same time sacrilegious painting.

In my parallel life I am a professor in logic at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Technical University of Denmark, where I research topics related to Artificial Intelligence.
