This painting depicts the lord flying after burning the entire golden city of Lanka. On a mission to find Goddess Sita, Lord Hanuman was the messenger of lord Rama to Ravana. The demons to belittle the enemy set fire to Hanuman's tail (pride), but Hanuman can use his powers to stay cool and shrink small and big. Using his burning tail, he set the entire kingdom of Lanka on fire, then flew away. Hanuman burning the city was also an example of expressing the discomfort in the way of treatment and expressing it without being engrossed in the emotion (be it anger, anguish, or lowering self-esteem). If he could have used 100% of his power, Hanuman was completely capable of doing more damage than one can imagine, but he just expressed his dissatisfaction as well as gave the snapshot of power a messenger can have and let the rest to the imagination of the residents of Lanka. ।
