Fragments Nº 6 Print

This painting (created in 2016) is the sixth work of the Fragments series, a set of paintings where I express existence as an aesthetic phenomenon in the way Nietzche exposed it in his book "The Birth of Tragedy". In this piece I did a recreation of some of my previous creations such as the photographs I took when studied photography at Fine Arts faculty in Granada in 2001; one of the drawings I did in Málaga in the summer of 2006 after meeting a girl I was going out with; and even a sheet of the script I wrote about an original idea I had for a play when I lived in Madrid in 2009. As usual I have opted for acrylic as a medium because allowing me to work at high speed, and also collage with newspapers as part of the background along with cuttings of paper and masking tape to convey the idea of heterogeneous elements that coexist in the same place as if the whole was a carboard above my desk where I stick my creations. To give rhythm to the composition I have chosen a gestural language in a monochrome style where highlights an intuitive form of expression. The painting is signed and dated on the front. This work is unframed and it is shipped streched in an extra strong cardboard box.
