About The Artwork
I attempt to work spontaneously and as I was painting with my fingers daubing the black paint onto the rough plaster on board I could see the crucifixion with Christ flanked by the robbers, the disciples leaving in fear, Mary at the foot of the cross and the centurion. I then cut into the black daub with white acrylic to give a clearly defined image. I chose these materials because the rouge plaster on board gives an interesting texture and often surprising results.
