Greed, you have many names, Ego first and foremost, it is your keeper, you are its hungry dog. We may see you as a careful planner of the future, in control, even astute. You seem to have it all, and more comes your way, but your knuckles are white, your back is broken carrying your vault of possessions with you as you go. Your fear is as deep as your loneliness is. There is space for nothing and no one on your quest of getting. We celebrate you! You have ambition, you know where you are going, you will be the next billionaire. Yet, as your possessions of things and bodies increase your grip tightens still, your body bends under the immense responsibility and you stop making promises. But we still celebrate you, you are the martyr, another superhero who will save all when it comes to the crunch, after all, you have everything right? Greed, will you hold tightly to your heart too? Or is it for sale to the highest bidder? Will the Ego demand compensation for the sale of emotions too? We know it is for sale, everything is at the right price? Greed, is your heart a prize possession or available to the highest bidder? What else will you sell to gain? Your self? Ahhh Greed, look on Charity, this witness is rich beyond measure, certain in its ways, sure of its journey, and knowledgeable of the unity of love. Charity knows "giving and receiving are the same", charity knows how to give and receive simultaneously and its storehouse of treasures outweigh the burden you carry. Charity sees no greed in you, no ego, no heart for sale, it sees only what gifts it can give to you Greed to open your heart and mind to the eternal awareness that you have everything now. The witnesses arrive to remind you that it is our natural state to give love, forgiveness, and of your time freely to all. For as you hand over these seemingly priceless gifts, they are instantly yours too. Greed, drop the vault, unhook yourself, open your hands and share the gifts you have to give. "Never forget, then, that you have set the value on what you receive, and have priced it by what you give. To believe that it is possible to get much for little is to believe that you can bargain with God." There are no bargains to be had. The value is not determined by what you are willing to give, the value is in the giving. Let others' interests be of value to you and receive the equivalent in value. Think not that you sacrifice Greed for "The sacrifice comes not from giving it up ['stuff'] but from valuing it ['stuff']. Who in his sane mind chooses nothing as a substitute.for everything?."
