Legacy (2002) Print

This work was created in response to 911. Some of the elements predated the actual event but fit the theme, including the photojournalist capture from the athlete's village at the Munich 1972 Olympics. This is the first of five paintings in the series that I used to help process the shock of the 911 event, and to interpret the ramifications involved instead of responding strictly out of fear... Bombing straight out of the can, using acetone wipes and strong graphics imagery was my artistic practice at the time. i think it suits the subject matter both in terms of impact and raw boldness of expression. dana richardson toronto CA
