VIEW IN MY ROOM
Looks can be deceiving. What appears to be a framed photo of a dog on a beach, leaning against a wall is worth another look. Because in front of it are a Vans shoe and a ball of yarn, which are reflected, mirror-like in the image. But wait ... the ball of yarn which is on the floor, unwinds, right into the picture. Is it a mirror? Is it a picture? And what is the dog looking at as it stares out at the ocean? Look a little closer and you'll see two figures, swimming in the waves. Truly there are some loose ends going on in this painting that with a proper story, might be all tied together. This imaginative painting is gallery-wrapped and ready for hanging even without a frame. Magritte would hopefully approve of this concept, though he might wonder about the Vans shoe!

I am a modern day, self-taught surrealist. I paint ideas. My goal is to depict the impossible or at least, the highly improbable. When people view my paintings, it's readily apparent what is going on, just not always easily understandable as to why. My paintings will make you think and hopefully, bring a smile to your face.
