About The Artwork

Black ink depicts a marmaid surrounding with light pink, light blue, and light green light shining through the sea. Brown and blue paints represents fish around the marmaid. The background was roughly painted with light green and light blue. Black ink was executed with blue and brown paints. best to be framed. Yoshirou Arisumi was born and worked in Fukuoka, Japan (1900-1990). He studied under 3 prominent Japanese artists and self-taught in 1930's Paris. His works contains traditional Japanese painting, oil, water color, and sculpture. Though he got the inspirations from landscape, city-scape, and nature, he used different medium, styles, and methods to express. Later he traveled extensively in southern Japan and Okinawa and painted landscapes and portraits.
