About The Artwork

This painting reflects the memories of a little child who used to play and dream secretly to become the most beautiful woman of nowaday. That little child came from a small town where people used to rule their world and tell her she never will become a woaman and after a long time that child decided to love her self and become the woman she sees today in front the mirror.

Natasha Muriel is a Colombian-born Latina Transgender artist based in New York City. She formally studied painting, illustration, photography, and digital art in Panama City, then studied to be a tattoo artist in Argentina, and is currently studying Decorative Arts Design in Manhattan. She uses acrylic, oil, and watercolor on canvas, paper, and clothes, and also creates digital art in Procreate. Her style is influenced by Expressionism combined with Surrealism and Abstract Art. In her paintings, she focuses on showing South American colors and landscapes, but also tells us her story and the various experiences she has had as a transgender woman in the modern world. Natasha is working hard to give more visibility to her work as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Her work has been purchased and displayed by collectors in Argentina, Mexico, and the United States. As she has said: “I'm trying to tell you my story, my emotions, my feelings, my dreams. I'm showing you what I see in my mind's eye. All of us have a story and this is MINE, and I want to share this story with the world for this and future generations."
