About The Artwork

My latest painting, “Morning River Mist”. Before Europeans began to invade the Great Plains in 1871 there were 60 million of these magnificent creatures in the West. Within a period of 18 years only around 500 survived the greatest European slaughter of animals in history. This single bison standing alone emotionally reflects this sad and brutal political slaughter of a species the original people of this country had used as a food source for eons.
