Recently I moved to Naples, Florida from Detroit, Michigan. It has been a dramatic change in many ways. I spend much of my time on the beach, observing sky and water. I began a series of pastels to explore the natural beauty of Southwest Florida as it changes through the day. I use soft pastels on cartón, which is a paperboard that was popular in Paris in the 19th century. The board is 9x12 inches, but the image itself is 8x10 inches. The work is shipped unframed, but will fit perfectly into a standard size mat with an 8x10 inch opening.
