New Village is from a series of pantings that explore ideas of semiotics, multiculturalism and spiritual intention. First iteration was created in 2011 and has exhibited at the Elmhurst Museum of Art, the St. Louis University Museum of Art and the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science. The piece here is currently on display at the Evansville Museum and would be ready to ship in April when the exhibition comes down. This painting is prepared with a fresco medium and worked secco. Rounds of painting come in and sanding revealing the archeology of the piece and nice abstract moments. The color contrasts and harmonies lead the eye around the work taking you into its texture, patterns and symbols. The work is created on a 3" deep reverse bevel panel that is painted cadmium red. The effect is a light aura that projects onto the wall as if lit from within. Thank you for your time and consideration of this work. Other paintings in the series in the form of prints are in the Twitter collection, Estee Lauder and UCSD Jacobs Medical Center - selected by Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Works from the New Village series were selected twice for the publication New American Paintings by museum curators from the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis. Too these paintings have been featured at international art fairs, PULSE Miami, Art Palm Springs and Aqua Miami.
